Performance Videos

This page is a guide to where to actually watch the group perform, rather than an embedded collection, since the video itself belongs to the platforms and rights holders that host it.

The Last Waltz (1978) is the essential document, Martin Scorsese's full concert film of the November 1976 farewell show, widely regarded as one of the best concert films ever made and available through standard film and streaming rental services.

Woodstock (1970), the documentary of the 1969 festival, does not include the group's own performance for licensing reasons, despite the Band having played a full set there. Their actual Woodstock set exists in bootleg and archival circulation but was never part of the official film or soundtrack release.

The Ed Sullivan Show, November 1969, features the group's television performance of "Up on Cripple Creek," their only appearance on the program, from the era when the song was a genuine chart hit.

Saturday Night Live, October 30, 1976, includes the announcement of The Last Waltz concert, with host Buck Henry telling the audience the group was about to break up.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, 1994, includes archival footage of Robertson, Danko, and Hudson performing together, one of very few filmed reunions after 1976.

For officially uploaded performance clips, the Band's own verified channels on YouTube and other platforms are the most reliable current source, since third-party uploads of copyrighted concert footage are frequently removed.
